Service Guide

We have prayed and prepared to be Spirit-led throughout the entire service, which may change the details of the guide.

10:00 am to 10:45 am  |  Discipleship Groups & Children Classes

DISCIPLESHIP GROUPS

Discipleship Groups meet on Sundays at 10:00 am and have two primary goals: 1) Connect with other people in our church, and 2) Create opportunities for those people to have conversations about their faith.

Classroom Locations:

  • Patrick & Elaine Heher (everyone) - Classroom 201 / Gym Building

  • Harrison & Ashley Taylor (leaders) - Classroom 202 / Gym Building
  • Young Adults - Classroom 303 / Gym Building--Upstairs

  • Students (6th-12th Grade) - Classroom 304 / Gym Building--Upstairs

  • Open House - Lobby / Main Building (must register first)

CHILDREN CLASSES

Children (Infants to 5th grade) can be checked in from 9:45 am in the front lobby and taken to their classroom where classes will begin at 10:00 am. They will learn the bible with our leaders and have fun with other children of similar ages. You can pick up your child and bring them to the main auditorium after the adult Discipleship Groups end at 10:45 am. Nursery (Infants-3 years old) is available for the entire service.

10:45 am to 11:00 am  |  Transition Time & Pre-Worship

Grab a cup of coffee, check out your child from class, say hello to someone, and find your seat. During this time, our band begins playing a few songs to help us settle in and prepare our hearts for worship.

11:00 am to 12:00ish pm  |  Corporate Worship

Our priority today in service is to glorify God first. Our second priority is to edify and encourage the people.

PRAYER

Prayer is how we communicate with God. It can include personal requests, intercession for others, or expressions of gratitude and praise. During the service, there will be moments set aside for personal reflection and prayer, as well as times for corporate prayer, where we pray together as a congregation. Additionally, if you would like someone to pray with or for you, opportunities for personal prayer support will be available. Biblical Examples: 1 Timothy 2:1; 1 John 5:14

COMMUNION

Communion elements (unleavened bread and juice) are available each week. Communion honors Christ’s command, proclaims His sacrifice, fosters unity among believers, encourages self-examination, and reminds us of the hope we have in His return. Biblical Example: 1 Corinthians 11:17-34

SINGING

Singing is an important part of our worship as we lift our voices together to honor Jesus and encourage one another. Songs are diverse in style and are led by a band with lyrics projected. You'll notice different expressions of worship—some may sing joyfully, clap, or raise their hands, while others may worship quietly in reflection. Biblical Examples: Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16

  • Lamb Of God by Vertical Worship | YouTube

GIVING

Giving honors God’s provision, supports the church’s mission, fosters generosity, meets the needs of others, and reflects trust in His faithfulness. Biblical Examples: Matthew 6:21; 1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Corinthians 8:1-4; 9:6-8

This month's Mission Partner Highlight: Compassion International

Each month, we highlight one of our Mission Partners to help you find ways to make an impact around the world. For February, we are focusing on Compassion International. In partnering with Compassion International, this mission reaches and helps children walk with God. To share the good news of Jesus and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Through monthly financial support, prayer, and letter writing, 1116 Families can invest directly in the life of a child living in extreme poverty. Jherson Javier is a boy who lives in Bolivia. He attends Sunday School at his church and enjoys learning about God, ball games, and clapping his hands to music. It takes $38, each month, to help provide basic necessities to Jherson Javier.

SCRIPTURE READING

Public scripture reading connects us to the church's rich biblical tradition that models reverence for God's Word. Biblical Examples: Nehemiah 8:1-8; Ezra; Romans 10:17; 1 Timothy 4:13; Revelation 1:3

TEACHING

A pastor will teach through a biblical text, usually expository (verse by verse, chapter by chapter), for about 25-30 minutes. Teaching notes are made available to follow along and use for later personal study. If you have questions about the message please contact Pastor Jarrod at jarrod@1116.church

WATER BAPTISM

Water baptism is a public celebration and expression of that person’s decision to follow Jesus. Biblical Examples: Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:41; 8:12-13
