Ekklesia (Vision Update)

Ekklesia is a Greek word commonly translated as “church” but defined as “a called-out assembly or congregation.”

1 Timothy 6:20-21 20 O Timothy, guard the deposit entrusted to you. Avoid the irreverent babble and contradictions of what is falsely called “knowledge,” 21 for by professing it some have swerved from the faith. Grace be with you.

Titus 3:8-11, 14-15 8 The saying is trustworthy, and I want you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to devote themselves to good works. These things are excellent and profitable for people. 9 But avoid foolish controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels about the law, for they are unprofitable and worthless. 10 As for a person who stirs up division, after warning him once and then twice, have nothing more to do with him, 11 knowing that such a person is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned. 14 And let our people learn to devote themselves to good works, so as to help cases of urgent need, and not be unfruitful. 15 All who are with me send greetings to you. Greet those who love us in the faith. Grace be with you all.

  • We’ve been entrusted with a good work. Connect people with God, the church, and the world – the mission.

Cf. Ecclesiastes 3:1; Matthew 13:23; Galatians 6:9-10

Understanding the seasons of ministry help us to prepare for what's next. So what's next?

1. Equipping People for the Work of Ministry – not just tasks and programming, but relational driven discipleship, like Jesus did. 2. Prepare for Two Services 3. Prepare for Re-Plant:

- Our Church Culture Is Needed. We believe our core values and methods could greatly impact other cities. There are hundreds of dyeing churches, with similar to our story, all throughout the CSRA. We are called to do something about it.

- Go Where You Live. We have different represented cities outside of Evans in our church: Grovetown, Augusta, Aiken, Harlem, Appling. We want to be where you are to build everyday community.

PRAY FOR GOD TO OPEN DOORS: Grovetown or S. Augusta

- More People, More Gifts, More Impact. We have a lot of great people with unique gifts that want to be a part of something bigger than what happens at 1116 Fury’s Ferry Road. It’s not about one leader or one location.

  • We must continue unified in this good work.

Cf. Ephesians 4:11-13 (Romans 15:5; Philippians 2:2; 4:2); John 13:34-35 (Galatians 6:10; 1 Peter 3:8)

Ephesians 3:20-21 20 Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
