Let's be honest, life can be chaotic. Sometimes between work drama or kids calling your name for the 100th time, you find yourself locked in a bathroom trying to find your happy place. Everyone needs "Quiet Time". We've listed some practical things for you to consider to make the most out of that quiet time.
1. Make time for Quiet Time. Psalms 46:10
Don't feel bad about taking some time out of your day away from other people. You will serve those people better if you'll commit to spend some time alone. Get still and quiet. Try not to wander and get distracted. This will help by finding a secluded spot away from others. Jesus did this all throughout his earthly ministry as an example for us. Cf. Matthew 26:36; Mark 1:35; Luke 5:16 2. Get into the Word. 2 Timothy 2:15; 2 Timothy 3:16-17 Make most of your QT by getting into the Word. It will encourage your soul and heart searching the promises of God. This is also God's primary way of speaking to us. It may be a good time to review your notes from the message or small group.
3. Listen and Record. Psalms 119 Intentionally focus in on what Jesus is speaking to you through His Word. You're not trying to impress anyone, so just write down your thoughts. You can write down key scriptures, a prayer request, a win, etc. 4. Pray. Psalms 55:22; Ephesians 6:18-20; Philippians 4;6-7; 1 Timothy 2:1; 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 This is time to get real. The Bible says we can tell God anything and everything. Pray out loud if you need to, to keep your mind on track.
You can pray for yourself (struggles, wins), for others/intercession, and thank God for who He is and what He has done.
